Institute of Social Sciences

Our institute was founded under the patronage of Eskisehir Osmangazi University with a governmental law judgement decree issued by 496 in 18.08.1993. The first registered students of the institute began to be educated in the fall semester of 1997-1998. In the institute there are 11 main branch of sciences named as Management, Economy, Finance, History, Turkish Language and Literature, Comparative Literature, Basic Islamic Sciences, Islamic History and Arts, Tourism and Hotel Management, International Relations, Philosophy and Religious Sciences. In these main branch of sciences 14 postgraduate program, 4 postgraduate program without thesis and 4 doctorate program are active for the students. For these programs our institute are in coordination with the social departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Theology and Junior Technical College of Tourism and Hotel Management.

Under the general mission of Eskisehir Osmangazi University, our institute undertakes the vision of forming suitable academic atmosphere for the development of science and sharing of knowledge in national and international level. The mission of our institute is to open and wage postgraduate and doctorate programs under which universal science and national questions in the field of social science will be contributed by way of educating researcher, making research and writing thesis.
