1. General Information
In the General Assembly of Higher Education Council (YOK) dated on August 29, 2012,an Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Department was decided to establish in the EskisehirHealth Sciences Institute. Professor Dr. Emel ULUPINAR, from Eskisehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Medicine Department of Anatomy, was assigned as head of department on October 17, 2012. There are 22 founder faculty members, directly or indirectly contributing to our department, from Anatomy, Biophysics, Physiology, Neurology, Histology and Embryology, Medical Biology, Medical Biochemistry,Pharmacology, Psychiatry, Medical Genetics, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics Departments. Therefore, very well-establishedinfrastructure and technical facilities found in these departments are provided to ourstudents for the usage in their research.

4. Acceptance Requirements
The applicant must have a minimum score of 55 in the nonverbal section of the National Graduate Record Examination. And the certified foreign language score must be minimum 40.
5. Recognition of Prior Learning
In Turkish Higher Education institutions, recognition of prior learning, vertical, horizantal and in-house transfers take place in the scope of “UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AND HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS SWITCH BETWEEN PROGRAMMES, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND MAKING TRANSFER BETWEEN CREDIT INSTITUTIONS BASIS OF REGULATION” which is determined by The Council of Higher Education
6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Master of Science programme consists of at least7 courses on condition that can’t be less than totally 21 credits for bachelor’s degree students, one seminary course, proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialized field course, and thesis study. For the students who are accepted with bachelor degree, programme consists of at least 16 courses on condition that can’t be less than totally 48 credits, proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialized field course, and thesis study. Proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialized field course, and thesis study have no credits and evaluated as successful/unsuccessful. For the master’s programme maximum time to complete required courses successfully is 3 years for the bachelor’s degree students. The students, who can’t complete courses with credits or don’t have minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00, should notify in written to Head of Department if they will continue or not. A new advisor can be assigned to the student who wants to continue to the programme.
7. Program Profile (Objectives)
In the neuroscience graduate program, opportunity to acquire advanced knowledge from different disciplines in the field of neuroscience is given to students. The aim of the programme is to gain the ability to make creative and innovative scientific research with a critical point of view by using modern research methods and techniques.
8. Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, students will have extensive knowledge about thenormal structure and function of the nervous system and they will learn scientific research principles and methods.
9. Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Holders of this degree might be employed in a variety of domestic and foreignUniversities, Faculties, Institutes and Colleges as a lecturer or researcher. In addition, they can be employed in various hospitals, laboratories, clinics and centers of as an expert.
10. Access to Further Studies
Students who have master’s degree from special masters program can study in own doctorate programs in condition with having sufficient point from Academic personnel and postgraduate education entrance exam (ALES) and Interuniversity foreign language examination (UDS) and equivalant foreign language examination. Upon succesful completion of postgraduate education , candidates can have academic carrier studies and get high positions. They can be assigned as a manager in related organization and establishments.
11. Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
For each course, the method of assesment and grading is defined in “Course Information Form” in details.
12. Graduation Requirements
The master’ degree diploma is given to the student who is successful at thesis defense, and other conditions, after is submitted specified number of bounded copy master thesis that is determined by institute council, to health Sciences Institute Directorate and whose form of is accepted as approriate.

15. Department Resources
Within the different disciplines that contribute to the Department, there are a large number of modern research laboratories which allow to scientific studies. Tissue laboratoriesproviding examination of the nervous system structures at the macroscopic and microscopic levels, SEM, TEM, fluorescence and light microscopy units,immunohistochemistry and molecular biology laboratories, units examining the functional and behavioral parameters, units using a variety of biochemical tests and laboratorytechniques, computer-assisted counting, analysis and imaging units offer research opportunities to students in the different places of the Departments.
