General Information
The Department of Anatomy was founded at 1980 with the contribution of Associate Professor Dr. Haluk Kiper. The facilities of the department could respond to only 80 students initially. Today it can respond to approximately 200 students with dissection laboratories and it has closed system monitor system for teaching purposes.
The scientific facilities of the department give opportunities to make preparation for scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The tissue preparation unit for light microscopy studies is fully functional and the department has the modern laboratories for immunohistochemistry. Moreover it houses a computer supported stereology and morphometry section.
Today our department maintains education and research duties with 7 instructors and 3 assistants.
