1. General Information
The rail systems in the world and in Turkey are expanding steadily. As the railroads expand, the demand for the Rolling stock increases, too. Expansion of the lines and production of the Rolling stock will require employment of the expert manpower. Current educational programs in Turkey do not have the capacity to meet this demand. The rail systems graduate was initiated at Eskişehir Osmangazi University to contribute to meet this demand. With this program, the Rail Systems Test and Certification Center in Eskişehir will be supported, too.
Eskişehir Osmangazi University is a founding member of the Rail Systems Cluster. With the graduate program, it will contribute to the development of the rail systems by training engineers for the companies such as TULOMSAS.
This is an interdisciplinary program. It is founded under the administration of the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences. Faculty members from the Electrical-Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Metallurgical, Industrial, and Computer Engineering and other departments take part in the program. Courses offered by these departments can be included in the program. Also, courses offered under Rail Systems can be taken by students in other disciplines. Program allows the admission of the graduates of most of the engineering programs with a preparatory coursework if they do not have the proper background for the intended program.
The Rail Systems graduate program has two main branches: Engineering and Management.
