Osmangazi University Department of Architecture was founded in 1984 within Anadolu University. In 1993 it was separated from Anadolu University and became a part of Eskişehir Osmangazi University.
Department of Architecture is located in Bademlik Campus, which is away from the main campus. The campus is close to the city center. Department of Architecture building is located in the Bademlik Campus according to the needs of architecture students, therefore has a different organization than other departments. The training offered in the Department of Architecture is based on both technical knowledge and design knowledge. The aim of the department is to offer a high-class and up to date education environment and also educate contemporary architects who can create unique designs.
Students, successfully complete the program are awarded in Bachelor of Architecture degree.

In Turkish Higher Education system recognition of prior formal education, vertical and horizontal transfers between higher education institutions are carried out according to the following rule:
"YÜKSEKÖĞRETİM KURUMLARINDA ÖNLİSANS VE LİSANS DÜZEYİNDEKİ PROGRAMLAR ARASINDA GEÇİŞ, ÇİFT ANADAL, YAN DAL İLE KURUMLAR ARASI KREDİ TRANSFERİ YAPILMASI ESASLARINA İLİŞKİN YÖNETMELİK " (THE REGULATIONS ON THE TRANSFER BETWEEN VOCATIONAL COLLEGE AND UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS OF HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND CREDIT TRANSFERS)
For the recognition of learning based on private instruction or personal experience, proficiency exams are offered to students for some foreign language and computer courses. Students who obtain a minimum score are deemed successful for these courses and are exempted from taking such courses.
A student must receive a passing grade (AA through DD, or YT) for each course in the program and must not have any FF, DZ or YZ grade for any course he/she has taken. In the program, at least 240 ECTS credits and a minimum 2.00 out of 4.00 grade point average are required. In addition to the coursework, each architecture student is required to accomplish 1 week of practice training in Building, Construction and Survey, 30 days of construction training and 30 days of office training.
Eskişehir Osmangazi University Department of Architecture aims to contribute to knowledge development in architectural education and practice. This can only be possible with the active participation of responsible academics and architects in the design, construction and evaluation processes of built environment. In order to achieve this goal, our department aims to cultivate research-based, creative thinking, flexible, multi-disciplinary, self-developing architects and academics, as well as creating a unique and effective milieu for architectural education and research; and it also aims to contribute to development and sharing knowledge in architectural education and practice by published works, exhibitions and events.
Eskişehir Osmangazi University, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Department of Architecture offers 4 years of undergraduate education. From the first year, in order to build up the necessary design and technical foundation, practical and theoretical practices are conducted simultaneously. Besides the architectural design studios, where students gain experience in project design, by choosing elective courses in departments related to their future professional fields, it is aimed for students to complete their period of education most efficiently.
Students who graduate from the Department of Architecture can be employed by state and private establishments as “architects”.
Candidates who have successfully completed their undergraduate studies can study in their own fields or in related fields, provided that they obtain valid points from ALES or equivalent exams and have sufficient knowledge of foreign languages.

Graduation requirements are as explained in the section titled “Conditions and Rules for the Degree Qualification”.
Full-time attendance is required.

Our department has thirteen full-time faculty members including one professor, three associate professors, nine assistant professors, six part-time faculty members consisting of academicians and architects and five assistants. The courses in the intersection of engineering and architectural fields are lectured with the support from the related engineering departments of our faculty. The graduation project, which has a special importance in architectural education, has been carried out by academic staff members and qualified architects.
