5. Recognition of Prior Learning
Credit transfer related to previous education is conducted in accordance with the “REGULATION ON TRANSFERS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR, AND CREDIT TRANSFER AMONG ASSOCIATE AND UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS” (Yükseköğretim Kurumlarında Önlisans Ve Lisans Düzeyindeki Programlar Arasında Geçiş, Çift Anadal, Yan Dal İle Kurumlar Arası Kredi Transferi Yapılması Esaslarına İlişkin Yönetmelik) issued by the Higher Education Council (Yüksek Öğretim Kurulu).
An exemption exam is held at the beginning of each academic term for foreign language courses as part of the recognition of learning outside of formal education institutions in Turkey based on certification or experience. Students who pass this exam are exempt from relevant courses.
6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The success in any course is determined by evaluating the average midterm grades and final or makeup exams.
The grade for a course is calculated by combining 40% of the midterm score and 60% of the final or makeup exam score. Decimal points are retained in these calculations, and fractional grades are rounded to the nearest whole number. Absence from an exam is evaluated as zero (0) in calculating the average. A minimum score of 60 (grade CC) is required to pass a course.
To be successful in a course, students must obtain at least 60 points in the final or makeup exam, regardless of the midterm score, and receive a minimum grade of CC.
The graduation grade is determined based on the overall GPA, with a minimum requirement of 2.00.
