1. General Information
The main goal of this faculty is to raise theologists who can reach the main sources of Islamic Religion by himself, then read, evaluate and take these as basis while forming mental world, who is aware of the accumulation in area of Theology in the past, who does not stay away from the values of society they live in and appreciate the cultural heritage, interpret the life with their own accumulation as effective members and produce solutions for the probable problems in an academic view.

The Bachelor of Theology programme is being implemented in Osmangazi University.

There are three graduate programs in the Faculty of Theology. These programs are different forms from the other  graduate  departments. These programs constitute the academicstructuring.

3.    Philosophy and Religious Science

4.    Primary Education Religious Culture and Moral Knowledge Teaching

 

2. Qualification Awarded
The students who successfully complete the program are awarded the degree of Master of  Science in Basic Islamic Sciences.

 

3. Level of Qualification
License Degree.

 

4. Qualification Requirements and Admission  
General Admission Requirements are applied for Turkish and international students.

 

5. Recognition of Prior Learning
General arrangements for the recognition of prior learning are done according to scope of the rules of Regulation.
General Admission Requirements to begin the program are applied for Turkish Students and international students.

Students who were previously educated-trained in another higher education institution are exempted from the courses they completed.

 

6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students must be successfull and/or pass all courses on the programme including graduation thesis and internship that are explained education and exam regulation of Eskişehir Osmangazi University.

 

7. Program Profile (aim)
The purpose of the program is to train qualified students who are familiar with the basic issues and can make comment, criticism, analyzing on events and phenomena scientifically within the scope of the Department of in Basic Islamic Sciences.

 

8. Program Competencies (Learning Outcomes)
1.    Students will be able to read and understand religious text books.

2.    The student recognizes the Qur'an al-Karim purviews and commentaries. Studentscan compare between them.

3.    Students can exchange views on the international level in the context of Quran al-Karim purviews and commentaries

4.    Student knows the relationship between faith and hadith, Interprets the role of Sunnah in contibution to living together in a society

5.    Student gains the ability to understand hadith texts

6.    Achieves the ability to understand the essential terminology of hadith correctly

7.    Students are able to attain information, evaluate the same and make comparisons about religion, sects and modern religious movements.

8.    Define the description of "Islamic sects" and its aim, scope, and methodology

9.    Analyse the Islamic sects carefully and scientifically

10.Describe the fundamental principles of Islamic sects and their big scholars

11.Explain the religious, etnic, cultural, social and political diversity of Islamic sects and their reasons

12.Analyse contributions of Islamic sects to the Islamic Thought

13.The student solves new problems in the field of theology in the light of the classical sciences and shares them with society.

14.To define main problems of historical studies

15.Recognize the main concepts and actors of Islamic law

16.Learns arabic and expressions and and practice them.

17.Translates from arabic to turkish verbal and written.

18.Interpret the activities and practices of Sufi culture and illustrate them.

19.Explain the consepts and the elements of Sufi culture

20.The student evaluates classical subjects and books  logically.

 

9. Job Opportunities for  Qraduates
 To work as academic staff in universities in related disciplines. Working in various positions within the Department of Religious Affairs, to suit a variety of governmental and non-governmental organizations, companies,  etc.

 

10. Jump to Top Degree Programs
Students who have successfully completed master's program are eligible to enter the Ph.D. program if they complete to take the necessary conditions for the Ph.D. program.
