1. General Information
Biology depertmant start activity in constitution of Anadolu University Art and Science Faculty between 1982-1983. Since 1993, it has been continuing education in constitution of Eskişehir Osmangazi University. Biology depertmant includes 6 different depertmants, Botany; General Biology; Hydrobiology; Molecular Biology; Basic and Industrial Microbiology and Zoology. Aim of the depertmant is that educating a biologist who investigate the structure, organization, function, diversity and interaction of living organism scientifically; has ability of probing the results and presenting outcomes; has enough knowledge and ability to satisfy the need of sector; has ability to contact between the discipline and stale team work; adopt the importance of life long learning, internalize ethical rules; has open mind to cominicate; has entrepreneur and modern charecter. At department four yeared license programme, post graduate and doctor's degree are given. Biological knowledge are thought to the licence students both theorical and pratical. At firstly half of education, 4 semesters, basic knowledge of biology; at fallowing semesters selective courses which helps graduate students to increase their abilities and knowledge have being thought.
Department of biology have graduate education on Botany, General Biology, Molecular Biology, Basic and Industrial Microbiology and Zoology depend on Institute of Science. Every year master students are accepted by Institute of Science in accordance with the conditions of admission and registration to the quota reported by mentioned branches of science on Spring and Fall semesters.

6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The MSc program consists of minimum of seven courses, a seminar course, specialization field courses and a thesis study. According to the ECTS regulations, to graduate from the program, minimum 60 ECTS credits of course work and 60 ECTS credit thesis study must be completed. The letter grade of the courses must be at least CC, and the cumulative grade ponit average (CGPA) must be at least 3.0/4.0..

Graduates; Institutions under the Ministry of Health, in Ministry of National Education schools and private schools, private courses, research institutions, laboratories, food industry, medical and agricultural pharmaceutical industry, Pharmaceutical marketing, national parks, Food, Agriculture and Livestock Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs and other organizations; could work as Biologist, Academician, Teacher, Technical Staff, Research and Development (R & D), Production, Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Sales and Marketing, Environmental Officer, Accountable Manager.

11. Examinations, Measurement and Evaluation
Evaluation and assesment methods for each course are determined by the course instructor and announced in the beginning of the term. The relevant information is described in the Course Information Form of each course. Grades/success evalutions of courses are conducted according to the ESOGU-GER.
12. Graduation Requirements

The MSc program is four semesters and the maximum completion period is six semesters.
To graduate from the program, the student must write their thesis according to the Thesis Writing Guide determined by the Graduate School and succesfully defend in front of jury.

Today, F2, F3 buildings have teaching staff and research laboratories, while undergraduate students' classrooms and practice laboratories are located in the F5 building. In addition, herbarium and insect collections are located in the F5 building as the 2 important collections of the department.
