The main aim of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling division located under the department is to train teacher who can serve in the schools that are in need of guidance services; and who are qualified with institutive and applied knowledge and skills.

The students who complete the program successfully earn Bachelor’s Degree in teaching profession.
Undergraduate
The general admission criteria apply to both Turkish and International students.
Acknowledging of previous learning in Turkish Higher Education Institutes, vertical and lateral transfers inside the university are carried out according to “THE REGULATION ABOUT TRANSFER, MINOR, DOUBLE MAJOR AND CREDIT TRANSFER BETWEEN INSTITUTIONS IN ASSOCIATE AND UNDERGRADUATE LEVEL IN HIGHER EDUCATION ISTITUTIONS” determined by Higher Education Council.
At the beginning of each academic term, an exemption exam is held for some computer and, foreign language courses that can be acknowledged within the context of certificate or experience based learning outside the formal education institutions in Turkey. The students who pass this exam are exempt from these courses in the program.
The students should be successful in all the courses; the students should not have FF, DZ, or YZ grades. In this program, the student should have at least 240/120 ECTS credits and the general grade point average should be at least 2,00 out of 4,00.
Our aims are to train teachers and counselors
-Who can conduct research by using scientific research methods to create solutions to the problems in the field,
-Who can determine goals for self-development in the field; who can choose and apply the correct strategies to reach these goals, who are able to assess and observe their situation in relation to reaching their goals,
-Who knows basic theoretical approaches to human development and who can differentiate basic development characteristics,
-Who can respect and accept different cultures in psychological counseling guidance services
-Who can benefit from basic theories of educational sciences and theories of psychological counseling and guidance in order to provide educational development,
-Who are able to assess, apply and interpret the notions and scientific methods in psychological counseling field,
-Who can establish constructive, ethical, and reliable relationships with the counselees in the process of psychological counseling and guidance, and who can utilize the best approach style for the counselee by using active listening skills,
-Who can start, maintain and end the process of group psychological counseling and guidance,
-Who knows and applies group psychological counseling and guidance theories and approaches,
-Who knows and attends professional organizations in the field of psychological counseling and guidance; who attends congress, symposiums, and meetings related with the field; who follows the scientific publications of the field,
-Who can identify an individual buy using identification techniques,
-Who can create and assess psychological counseling and guidance programs,
-Who can establish and manage psychological counseling and guidance centers.

The students completing the program have the opportunity to serve in public and private schools that are under Turkish Ministry of National Education.
The candidates who complete their undergraduate studies successfully, need to have valid score from ALES or an equivalent exam and they also need to have sufficient knowledge of a foreign language in order to attend to graduate programs of their field or any related field.
