Department of Turkish Language and Literature

1.General Information

 

Department has two main objectives: first, to train experts in the field of basic education and to prepare them for post-graduate education, and the second, the Turkish students Turkish Dialects and Literatures of the World as a whole in comparison with the other levels of research can prepare. The department implemented a four-year degree program. The graduate program, in coordination with Osmangazi University Institute of Social Sciences, carried out the contributions of the members of the department faculty.

 

 

2. Qualification

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a BA in Turkish Language and Literature.

 Turkish and foreign students to start the program for the general admission requirements apply.

 

5. Recognation of Former Education

 

In Turkish Higher Education Instutitons, recognition of former formal education, vertical and lateral transfer and transfer between departments in the university is fullfilled within in the scope of YÖK (Yüksek Öğretim Kurulu) regulations, namely “The transfer between associate degrees and undergraduate degrees, double major, lateral branch and interinstitutional credit transfer regulations in the Higher Education Institutions”.At the beginning of the each period, exemption exams for language and computer sciences courses can be taken. Students who can pass the exam will be exempted of mentioned courses.

 

6. Competency Requirements and Terms

 All courses must be passed in the student's program, FF, note should be DZ or NZ. In this program, students provide a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and GPA must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

 

 

7.  Scope of the Program

 ·        Turkish Language and Literature from the past to present to future generations formed tell and introduce modern methods of literary and scientific know-how.

 ·        Turkish Language and Literature, Comparative literature in the world to determine its place in the concrete examples and, if necessary, updating it constantly changes from past to future zevklerdeki aesthetic and scientific methods to detect and relevant individuals and departments share the results achieved.

 

 

8.Program Eligibilities

 

1) Social sciences and to have sufficient knowledge in Turkish Language and Literature, theoretical and practical knowledge in these areas, the ability to apply for solving the problems of Turkish Language and Literature,

2) the complex problems of Turkish Language and Literature, Science and related fields to identify, select and apply appropriate methods of analysis-solving skills.

3) in accordance with the specified text, or setting up goals by finding the ability to apply appropriate methods to solve,

4) Turkish Language and Literature, science, modern techniques and tools necessary for the study of the development, selection, use, and effective use of information technology skills,

5) belongs to the Turkish Language and Literature study of the texts, or to solve the problems of data collection, for it to reach old and new sources, analyze and interpret

6) Individual work, disciplinary and inter-disciplinary team-work ability,

7) Foreign language skills to communicate effectively in oral and written use / development and artistic skill of pleasure,

8) Recognition of the need for lifelong learning, access to information, to follow developments in science and technology and continuous self-renewal ability,

9)  Professional and ethical responsibility,

10) project management, risk management, and change management as well as information on applications in business, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development awareness,

11) Turkish language and literature studies and social dimensions of universal social, artistic, cultural, and psychological effects of information on the national and international level to raise awareness about the ability to produce information,

12) having information about local and global dimensions of contemporary problems.

 

9. Careers

 Graduates of the Department under the Ministry of National Education, or my ability to teach in private schools, the Ministry of Culture, Turkish Language Institution, and TRT archives may become an expert can work in different units.

 

10. Further Study

 The department offers a various research opportunities leading to master and PhD degrees for the students who are successfully graduated from undergraduate program have sufficient grade of foreign language and ALES (or equivalent exams) grades.

Department has 3 professors, 3 associate professors, 4 assistant professors, 4 lecturers and 6 research assistant.

Turkish Language and Literature section of 18 offices, classrooms and meeting rooms are available 4. 4 is the projected classroom. This chapter also has a lounge and a library.
