Master of Science Program in Physiology

1. General Information

The Department of Physiology was founded at 1981. The facilities of the department could respond then to only 80 undergraduate students at the beginning, but today it can respond to approximately 250 students. Today our department maintains education and research activities with 10 academic personals. The scientific facilities of the department give opportunities to do research in 7 different physiological laboratories (see Department facilities).

2. Qualification

Physiology diploma is given to students who successfully coplete the program.

3. Level of Qualification

Master of Science in physiology

4. Admission and Enrollment Terms

Health Science Institute Graduate Terms apply.

To be accepted for the master program in physiology students must have an undergraduate degree either in biology, medical biology, chemistry, veterinary medicine or for other degrees to complete the scientific preparation program of physiology.

5. Recognition of Former Educations

If applied for, this is decided by the Academic Council of Physiology Department and Board of Directors of Health Sciences Institute.

6. Qualification Requirements and Terms

The student must succeed all the courses that selected by the advisor and must complete a minimum of 90 ECTS credits out of these courses. The average score of these courses must not be under CC. The student must submit a graduate thesis that include a physiological laboratory study.

7. Objectives of the Program

This program gives students the opportunity to improve their background knowledge in both basic medical sciences and physiology. This program also provides an ability of physiological thinking and teaches modern physiological research techniques.

8. Program Qualification (Outputs)

Upon completion of the program, student will learn the basic physiological knowledge, modern physiological research technique and prepare himself for an academic career.

9. Employment Opportunities

The holder of  M.S degree in physiology may be employed in several institutes, faculties and private companies as lecturer and/or researcher.

10. Access to Further Educational Programs

The holder of M.S degree in physiology can apply to related doctorate programs.

11. Exams, Measurement and Evaluation

Measurement and evaluation for each course are described in the “Course Information Forms’.

12. Graduation Requirements

Those are described in the Qualification Requirements and Regulations section.

13. Mode of Study
