Tourizm Guidance Master's Degree Programme without Thesis (S.E.)

Tourist Guidance Master’s Degree (Non-thesis)

General Information

Students are accepted to programme of Tourist Guidance Master’s Degree (non-thesis) since 2016-2017. The program includes 120 credits (ECTS) consists of courses and a thesis. In Master's Degree Programme in Tourism and Hotel Management, students are required to complete a 120 credits (ECTS) and a term project. The programme consists of 13 core and 2 elective courses no less than 30 credits and a final term project. The term project is evaluated as “pass” or “fail”.

2. Qualification Awarded

Students having successfully completed this program are awarded a master’s degree (non-thesis) of Tourist Guidance.

3. Degree Level

Master’s level (Non –thesis).

4. Acceptance and Registration Provisions

General acceptance provisions is valid to start program for Turkish and foreign students.

5. Recognition of Prior Learning

Eskişehir Osmangazi University students who have begun the learning process for foreign language courses (English, French, German or Arabic) in foreign student preparatory classes or in programmes in which they have been enrolled, or who have completed this process through other means and who believe that they have attained the necessary learning results have the right to enter the relevant exemption exam. Students who attain passing grades from these exams will be exempt from the relevant lesson in the curriculum and this will be recorded on the student’s transcript.

In accordance with the principles determined by the Eskişehir Osmangazi University Senate students from other universities are accepted for the equivalent master's degree programs by lateral transfer.

6. Proficiency Requirements and Norms

It’s essential that students must be succeed at all courses, and must not get FF, DZ or YZ grade. In this program, students must complete at least 120 ECTS credits and grade point average must be at least 3,00 out of 4,00.

7. Program Profile (Objective)

Purpose of the programme is to raise versatile candidates of tourist guidance that will introduce Turkey to different cultures in the best fit in the concept of the Act of 3626.  

8. Program Proficiencies (Learning Outputs)

In master’s degree program, our students, in the direction of needs, can gain abilities to publish scientific articles, to produce solutions, to make both theoretical and practical research. Also with their work during master’s degree programme, our students acquire importance of being beneficial to society, embracing social responsibility and adhering ethical values.

During their master’s degree programme our students do scientific works and projects. By this they find opportunity to espouse the conceptual nature of tourism. As part of their efforts, they gain ability of doing scientific presentation, taking individual responsibility, working as a team and fulfilling of their responsibilities and duties. Also this scientific Works help our students to gain ability of researching, observing, evaluating and analysing research results. So our students can bring solutions to problems of tourism sector, develop strategies, contribute to both sectoral and academic improvements.

9. Employment Opportunity for Graduates

Graduates with a master's degree (non-thesis) are eligible to (terms apply) work as national official tour guides either personal or hired by travel agencies and tour operators. Besides, tour guides can work for both private and public organisations.

15. Department/Program Facilities

There are 2 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 5 Assistant Professors, total of 10 faculty members,  3 Lecturers, 2 Research Assistant Doctors, 6 Research Assistants and 16 staff members in Tourism Management Department. The faculty of tourism has 32 offices and 9 lecture halls and 12 classrooms and the classrooms are equipped with the latest technology equipment.
