Architecture (MSc)

1. General Information

Eskisehir Osmangazi University Department of Architecture Graduate Program  aims, to re-question and examine architectural knowledge and its theoretical structure and to conduct scientific research in this direction, to emphasize the interaction between theory and practice in architectural research, directly or indirectly. Moreover, the program aims; to acquire the ability to analyze and interpret contemporary theories and approaches in architectural design and practice, theory/criticism, urban design, building materials, building elements, structural systems, physical environment control, urban identity and memory, urban and cultural policies, space perception relations.

Actions are taken in accordance with the ESOGÜ Graduate Education Regulations and ESOGU Postgraduate Education Regulation and Implementation Procedures and Principles

Actions are taken in accordance with the relevant articles of the ESOGU Postgraduate Education Regulation and the ESOGU Postgraduate Education Regulation and Implementation Procedures and Principles

6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The MSc program consists of minimum of seven courses, a seminar course, specialization field courses and a thesis study. According to the ECTS regulations, to graduate from the program, minimum 60 ECTS credits of course work and 60 ECTS credit thesis study must be completed. The letter grade of the courses must be at least CC, and the cumulative grade ponit average (CGPA) must be at least 3.0/4.0..

9. Graduates Employment Opportunities

Graduates who complete the Master's Program in Architecture have the opportunity to work in a wide variety of fields. There are several options such as working in public institutions, working as a freelance architect, working as a designer in an architectural office, working as a site architect at the construction site, working in building inspection companies or organizations providing consultancy services.

 11. Examinations, Measurement and Evaluation

Evaluation and assesment methods for each course are determined  by the course instructor and announced in the beginning of the term. The relevant information is described in the Course Information Form of each course. Grades/success evalutions of courses are conducted according to the ESOGU-GER.

 

12. Graduation Requirements

The MSc program consists of minimum seven courses, a seminar course, specialization field courses and a thesis study. According to the ECTS regulations, minimum of 60 ECTS credits of course work and 60 ECTS credit  thesis study must be taken.

The MSc program is four semesters and the maximum completion period is six semesters.

To graduate from the program, the student must write their  thesis according to the Thesis Writing Guide determined by the Graduate School and succesfully defend in front of jury.

15. Department / Program Opportunities

Graduates who have completed the Building Science Master's Program can work as experts in all institutions working on sustainability, materials, people and comfort, safety, in the office or construction site environment, in public institutions and organizations, research centers, conservation centers, in all companies related to material production, as well as architects in the improvement of the existing building stock. Graduates who have completed the Restoration Master's Program can work in the fields of cultural heritage management, inventory, documentation, restitution and restoration projects, preparation of urban conservation and rehabilitation projects, reuse of industrial heritage and designing new structures in the historical environment Graduates who have completed the Architectural History Master's Program contribute to studies on the history of architecture
