Department of Medical History and Ethics Master's Degree

1. General Information

At the department of medical ethics in the field of occupational health as the main problem areas of communication, language, communication, health care workers, communication requires special knowledge and care of cancer, pediatric patients, the problems associated with the beginning and end of life, the use of biological materials of human origin, several types of cancer, quality of life, body image issues continues to work. Service providers in terms of space and understanding people, as necessary to carry out the planned services, timely identification of emerging value problems, creating solutions a priority in primary education program to develop.

Amount of times until the present day the medical profession on the basis of the methodology of the disease process in order to evaluate the concept of history, the development of diagnostic and therapeutic methods, the historical process works in medicine, treatment, and educational institutions in the development and examines the contributions of the present day.

2. Qualification

Medical History and Ethics U.S. students who successfully complete the graduate program in the field of Medical History and Ethics Master's Degree is awarded.

Student admission requirements are in accordance with the Regulation of Health Sciences University. (See)

Recognition of Prior Learning

In Turkish Higher Education institutions, recognition of prior learning, vertical, horizantal and in-house transfers take place in the scope of “UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AND HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS SWITCH BETWEEN PROGRAMMES, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND MAKING TRANSFER BETWEEN CREDIT INSTITUTIONS BASIS OF REGULATION” which is determined by The Council of Higher Education

 

   5. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Master’s programme consists of at least7 courses on condition that can’t be less than totally 21 credits for bachelor’s degree students,one seminary course,  proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialized field course, and thesis study.  For the students who are accepted with bachelor degree, programme consists of at least 16 courses on condition that can’t be less than totally 48 credits, proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialized field course, and thesis study.  Proficiency exam, thesis proposal, specialized field course, and thesis study have no credits and evaluated as successful/unsuccessful.

For the master’s programme maximum time to complete required courses successfully is 3 years for the bachelor’s degree students. The students, who can’t complete courses with credits or don’t have minimum GPA of 3.00/4.00, should notify in written to Head of Department if they will continue or not. A new advisor can be assigned to the student who wants to continue to the programme.

   

 6. Profile of the Programme

The advanced level of scientific knowledge and skills will be gained to the students  in the fields of Anatomy, Medical Biology, Biophysics, Biostatistics, Physiology, Histology, Neuroscience and Psychiatry,

  • Point of investigative and critical view, the ability to asses health issues multi-directionally will be gained.
  • The ability to apply diagnostic procedures and survey methods with latest technological and scientific approaches will be gained.
  • The ability of using information technologies and laboratory substructure in the best way and attending to the common scientific studies  in the health care team will be gained .

 

 7. Programme Outcomes

The advanced level of scientific knowledge and skills will be gained to the students  in the fields of Anotomy, Biology, Biophysics, Biostatistics, Physiology, Histology, Neurology and Psychiatry,

8. Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Our graduates have employment oppurtunities  in their relevant  field of public enterprises and universities. Existence of our graduates having positions in academic staff as professors, associate professors,  assistant professors, and lecturers in various universities (Medical, Dentisty, Pharmacy, Health High School,and Health Sciences Faculties) also there are variety of employment opportunities in hospitals, laboratories and clinics for our graduates.

 

9. Access to Further Studies

Students who have master’s degree from special masters program can study in own doctorate programs in condition with having sufficient point from  Academic personnel and postgraduate education entrance exam (ALES) and Interuniversity foreign language examination (UDS) and equivalant foreign language examination. Upon succesful completion of postgraduate education , candidates can have academic carrier studies and get high positions. They can be assigned as a manager in related organization and establishments.

 

10. Examination Regulations,  Assessment and Grading

For each course, the method of assesment and grading is defined in “Course Information Form” in details.

 

11. Graduation Requirements

The master’ degree  diploma is given to the student who is successful at thesis defense, and other conditions, after is submitted specified number of bounded copy master thesis that is determined by institute council, to health Sciences Institute Directorate and whose form of is accepted as approriate.
