Nursing Master Degree Program

 

1. General Information

Our faculty started postgraduate education in the academic year 2013 and doctorate education in 2013 under the Institute of Health Sciences of Eskişehir Osmangazi University. She carries out her graduate and doctorate education and research activities in eight fields, namely Nursing Principles, Internal Medicine Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing, Child Health and Diseases Nursing, Mental Health and Diseases Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Nursing Management.

2. Qualification

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a master's degree in nursing.

4. Admission and Enrollment Terms

General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students are valid to start the program.

5. Recognition of Former Education

Recognition of previous formal learning in Turkish Higher Education institutions, vertical, horizontal and university transitions are carried out according to Eskişehir Osmangazi University Postgraduate Education Regulation.

6. Competency Requirements and Terms

The master's program consists of at least 7 courses, 120 ECTS other learning activities, thesis proposal, thesis study, seminar and specialization courses, with a total of not less than 21 credits. Specialization courses, seminars and thesis work are evaluated as sufficient/unsatisfactory. The total credits of compulsory courses cannot be less than 21 credits.

The doctorate program consists of at least 7 courses, 240 ECTS other learning activities, thesis proposal, thesis study, seminar and specialization courses, with a total of not less than 21 credits. Specialization courses, seminars and thesis work are evaluated as sufficient/unsatisfactory. The total credits of compulsory courses cannot be less than 21 credits.

Apart from the compulsory conditions, other activities related to the education and training of the department must also be fulfilled.

7. Objectives of the Program

1. Have a scientific understanding and can transform their knowledge in the field of nursing into skills in the field of expertise, have comprehensive and contemporary knowledge and skills, and the ability to think creatively and critically,

2. Being sensitive to the health problems and care needs of the individual, family and society at national and international level, and able to use community-supported, multidisciplinary approaches in the field of nursing for the protection and development of health and the solution of health problems,

3. To train science experts who can access and evaluate information about the concepts, principles and methods of nursing, conduct scientific research, transfer the acquired knowledge and skills to the field of practice and teaching nursing principles, and use teaching principles and methods in the field of nursing.

8. Program Qualifications (Learning Outcomes)

  • Our graduates;
  • To be able to determine the health-related needs of the individual, family and society in every environment that can be met with nursing interventions,
  • Plan nursing care within the framework of the needs determined within the scope of the nursing diagnosis process,
  • Apply nursing care,
  • Supervise nursing care,
  • Evaluate nursing care,
  • Determine the education needs of the patient and healthy individual in the field of health,
  • Can prepare a training plan suitable for the determined need,
  • Implement the planned training,
  • Evaluate the results,
  • Can apply the treatments given in writing, except in emergencies,
  • Can perform the duties in the legislation enacted in the practice of family medicine.
  • Can work in nursing-related administrative tasks.

9. Employment Opportunities for Graduates

She can work as a nurse in the Ministry of Health, as an academic staff in National and International higher education institutions, as a specialist nurse in private health institutions and university hospitals.

10. Transition to Higher Degree Programs

Candidates who have successfully completed their master's education can study in doctoral programs in their field or related fields, provided that they get valid scores from ALES or equivalent exams and have sufficient foreign language knowledge.

15. Department/Program Opportunities

There are 14 faculty members in the Nursing Department, including 3 Professors, 5 Associate Professors, and 6 Assistant Professor.

Faculty of Health Sciences has 8 classrooms on 580 m² with a total capacity of 450 students, 2 lecture halls on 230 m² with a total capacity of 220 students, 3 vocational skills laboratories on 125 m² with a total capacity of 70 students, 31 m² with a total capacity of 24 students. There is 1 computer laboratory, 1 social space of 77 m².
