Medical Imaging Techniques Program

1. General Information

Our school Medical Imaging Techniques Program for education and training started in 1990-1991 academic year. Program has a quota of 70 students.

The aim of the program in the associate degree vocational school of health services  is to give a comprehensive associate degree that provides to the students to train at a professional level of Medical Imaging Technicians, skilled, knowledgeable health staff in the accordance with the conditions of work and the country level in X-ray diagnosis and treatment (radiation therapy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, imaging, MRI, CT, digital x-rays, emergency X-ray, mammography, scope, etc.).

 

2. Qualification

Undergraduate students who successfully complete the program are awarded in the field of Medical Imaging Techniques Program.

 

3. Level of Qualification

Associate degree

 

4. Specific Admission Requirements

General admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students are acceptable to begin the program.

 

5. Recognition of Prior Learning

In Turkısh Higher Education Institutions, recognition of prior learning, vertical, horizontal and in-house transfers take place in the scope of ‘’ UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AND HİGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS SWITCH BETWEEN PROGRAMS, DOUBLE MAJOR, MİNOR AND MAKING TRANSFER BETWEEN CREDIT INSTITUTIONS BASIS OF REGULATION’’ which is determined by The Council of Higher Education.

In Turkey, apart from formal education institutions, an exemption exam is held for some computer and foreign language courses at the beginning of each academic year within the context of recognizing certificate or experience- based learning. Those who pass these exams are exempt from aforesaid courses in the curriculum.

 

6. Qualification Requirements and Regulations

A student is required to successfully complete the designated program of courses meeting a minimum of 120/240 ECTS credit requirement and have a minimum GPA of 2.00/4.00 and no FF, FZ or YZ grades.

 

7.Program Profile (Aim)

The purpose of Medical Imaging Techniques Program, to train skilled, knowledgeable health staff in the accordance with the conditions of work and the country level in X-ray diagnosis and treatment (radiation therapy, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, imaging, MRI, CT, digital x-rays, emergency X-ray, mammography, scope, etc.).

To contribute to the level of professional knowledge To develop professional communication skills.Creating the ability to access the current information relate to the program To gain the ability to communicate and exchange information with the counterparts in the field of practice of the profession in a healthy way To gain awareness of application of  the rules of professional deontology To have a basic level of knowledge related to the field of health To be able to use technological products related to the field To win the necessary hand skill of the  applications related to the field To win the ability of the application of  sterilization, disinfection and antisepsis  To win the ability of the solving the problems that may arise during the professional practice in a healthy way To gain the ability of  making decisions quickly and accurately related to the field  Having information about the health care legislation To gain awareness of professional responsibility To gain the necessary knowledge and experience in occupational safety To contribute to the intellectual level .


9. Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Medical Imaging Techniques Program Graduates: They perform their duties in public and private health institutions.
 

10. Access to Further Studies

Students continue their graduate education with DGS exam. They complete license program in Nursing, Nursing and Health Care Degree programs.
