Metallurgical And Materials Engineering Department

1. General Information

The department was established as Metallurgical Engineering on May 15, 1996 and the first students registered at fall semester of the academic year 1996-1997. The department name was changed as Metallurgical and Materials Engineering in 1998. Department has 18 academic staff: 4 full professors, 3 associate professor, 5 assistant professors and 6 research assistant. Every year 60 students register for the undergraduate program. Normal training period is 4 years and the Department has three main divisions that they are Materials, Extractive Metallurgy and Nanomaterials. The graduate program of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering has aproximateley 20 PhD and 50 graduate students.

2. Qualification

Upon successful completion of the program students are awarded a bachelor degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering.

3. Level of Qualification

Undergraduate

4.Admission Requirements

The general admission requirements for Turkish and foreign students are valid to register the program.

5. Undergraduate Transfer Opportunity

In Turkish Higher Education Institutions, recognition of prior non-formal learning, vertical, lateral, and transitions within the university, performed within the scope of "IN THE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRAMS, TRANSITION BETWEEN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AND DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND CREDIT TRANSFER BETWEEN CORPORATE ACTION ON BASIS OF REGULATION" that determined by the Board of Higher Education for the transitions.

Outside of formal educational institutions in Turkey, in recognition for certificate-based or experience-based learning, at the beginning of each academic term the exemption exam are organized for some computer and foreign language courses. Students who take the exam and pass the courses in the curriculum are exempt from the relevant.

6.Qualification Requirements and Conditions

All courses must be passed in the student's program, FF, DZ or NZ should not enough to sufficient grade. In this program, students provide a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and GPA must be at least 2.00 out of 4.00. In the training in the area of Casting, Manufacturing and Business are required to be complete in 45 business days.
