Nursing Doctoral Program

1. General Information

In our country, the number of nurses with a doctor degree is extremely low. On the other hand, faculty members’ number which are at Faculties of Health Sciences, School of Health does not have enough.

There is need for effective training in national and international scientific scholars in Nursing Doctoral Program.

For this reason, Eskişehir Osmangazi University, PhD in the Department of Nursing at the Institute of Health Sciences, the opening of the academic program is required.

Students who successfully complete the program in the field of nursing PhD degree is given.

4. Admission and Enrollment Terms

Turkish and foreign students to start the program for the general admission requirements apply and they should fullfil Eskişehir Osmangazi University Master of Education Regulation the general admission requirements.

5. Recognition of Former Education

Formal recognition of prior learning at Turkish higher education institutions, vertical, horizontal and transitions within the university are carried out with in Eskişehir Osmangazi University Graduate Education within the university according to the Regulation.

In order to apply to doctoral programs in nursing
firstly candidates must be done  Graduate degree in nursing
and any program related to nursing or nursing (Public Health Nursing, Medical Nursing, Surgical Nursing, Women's Health and Obstetric Nursing, Pediatric Nursing, etc.). master's degree.

6. Competency Requirements and Terms

PhD program for students with a master's degree not less than 21 credits, at least seven courses, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and thesis work. Proficiency exam, thesis proposal and thesis are non-credit, are evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. Educational and teaching outside the mandatory conditions must be met in other activities.

7. Objectives of the Program

    The aim of program is;

1)Educating students who have scientific understanding and knowledge in the field of nursing, have comprehensive , contemporary knowledge and skill enhancement, have the ability to think creatively and critically,

2) Educating students who are vulnerable to the needs and problems of individual, family and community health at national and international level. Moreover, educating students who protect, promote and support community health with a multidisciplinary approach that can use the methods in the field of nursing,

 3) Educating students who can have access to nursing concepts, principles, and methods related with nursing and can evaluate, can research in scientific area , can transfer the knowledge and skills to the field of training and can use the educations’ principles in to the training area.

8. Program Qualifications (Learning Outcomes)

1.      Our Graduates can apply regardless of the research plan, evaluate the obtained results. Also, they can offer these results to benefit of humanity.

2.      They can work in management and administrative duties which are related to nursing.

3.      In any environment, they can determine the individual, family and society’s health-related needs which can be met by nursing interventions in any environment.

4.      They can make plan of nursing care for requirements within the context of the nursing diagnostic process.

5.      They can implement nursing care.

6.      They can supervise nursing care.

7.      They can evaluate nursing care.

8.      They can identify the need for health education to patients and healthy individuals.

9.      They can prepare trainin plan accordance with the defined requirement.

10.  They can implement the planned training.

11.  They can evaluate the results of training.

12.  They can apply treatments which is given in writing, except for emergencies.

13.  They can make tasks in current legislation  in family medicine practice.

9. Careers

Nurses work as clinical nurse, service chief nurse, and the hospital chief nurse ,Ministry of Health Nursing, National and International academic staff in higher education institutions, university hospitals and nursing facilities.

There are 1 Professor, 4 Assistant Professor Doctor, 4 Lecturar, 4 Teaching İnstructor and 6 Research Assistant in Nursing department.

There ara 8 classrooms which have capacity of 450 students in 580 m² , 2 amphi which have capacity of 220 students in 230 m²,   3 professional skills lab which have capacity of 70 students in 125 m², 1 computer lab which have capacity of 24 students in 31 m², 1 social place in 77 m² in Eskişehir School of Health.
