General Information

Eskisehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Education appeared in the list that was published as an attachment of the enactment numbered 98/11641 and dated 12.08.1998 in the Official Gazette numbered 23472 on 23 September 1998. The faculty has been established as the seventh faculty of Eskisehir Osmangazi University. The University offered to open new departments upon the decisions made by University Senate and upon the offer made by Education Faculty on 06 January 1999. The Higher Education Council considered this offer in the meeting held on 02 February 1999. The University offered to open new divisions upon the decisions made by University Senate and upon the offer made by Education Faculty on 29 December 1999. The Higher Education Council considered this offer in the meeting held on 25 January 2000. The current departments and divisions under the Faculty of Education have been founded by these decisions on different times.

In a short period of time, our faculty has earned a genuine and a prestigious place in education sciences and teacher training by coming to the fore within the national and international environments. The main aims of the faculty are, securing the social justice in education, training qualified teachers for a humane future and developing the education. Furthermore, developing research and teaching and learning activities that will enable social justice in education by using all kinds of digital-pedagogical tools, and creating environments for students with different patterns to realize their potentials are also among our aims. Based upon these aims;

 

The general qualities expected from a teacher candidate are as follows:

Internalizing eminent humane and occupational values,

Using accurate and correct Turkish,

Having developed skills in critical and unique thinking and in problem solving,

Having a desire for serving the community and humanity,

Being able to use the information technologies effectively in every aspect of the life,

Filled with student love, being reformist and leader teachers.

The main aims of the faculty:

Developing strategies that will meet different individual needs,

Using digital pedagogical tools effectively,

Contributing to unique research and present knowledge.
